View distance and Simulation Distance

1. Login to Banana Panel:

  • Go to the Bananaservers.ca website, log into your account, and access the Banana Panel dashboard for managing your Minecraft server.

2. Stop Your Server:

  • Ensure your Minecraft server is not running by using the "Stop" button on your server's control panel page.

3. Access File Management:

  • Look for the "File Management" section within your server's control panel. This area allows you to modify the server's configuration files.

4. Edit the server.properties File:

  • Locate and open the server.properties file for editing. This file contains essential configuration settings, including the ones for view and simulation distances.
  • Find the view-distance and simulation-distance settings within the file, which may look similar to:
    view-distance=10
    simulation-distance=10
  • Adjust the Values: For enhancing performance, change the values to:
    view-distance=7
    simulation-distance=4

This adjustment reduces the view distance to improve performance without altering the simulation distance.

5. Save Changes:

  • After modification, ensure to save your changes to the server.properties file. There should be a save or similar button in the file editor interface.

6. Restart Your Server:

  • To apply the adjusted settings, restart your Minecraft server by clicking the "Restart" button on your server's control panel page.
